Three years ago, unknown thieves walked away with a safe from the Shelor Automotive Center. The safe’s whereabouts and who took it still remain a mystery. Earlier this week, the business increased the reward it is offering in an effort to secure information that might lead to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for the theft.
The safe, which was located in a human resources office at the Shelor business center, contained weekend sales deposits and some jewelry. The total value of the contents was estimated at $25,000.
No one has been charged in the incident. Initially, Shelor had announced a $25,000 reward. Monday, the amount was increased to $50,000.
Adding to the mystery is that there were no signs of forced entry.
Anyone with information should contact the Christiansburg police department at 382-3131.
