Wednesday June 22, 2022, at approximately 10:50 a.m., the Blacksburg Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving three eastbound vehicles between the Route 460 bypass and Southgate Drive. near Prices Fork Road.
Multiple patients were subsequently treated for injuries at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery. Other patients were taken to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Two patients with more serious injuries were flown to Roanoke.
The crash scene was cleared for traffic about mid-afternoon Wednesday.
Assisting the Blacksburg PD in its investigation of the crash were the Blacksburg Fire and Rescue Squad, Virginia Tech Police and Rescue, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Emergency Management, and the Virginia Department of Transportation.
