Montgomery County, VA — Members of the Rotary Club of Montgomery County recently raised $3,000 through its Coats for Kids program to donate to area schools to meet the outerwear needs of the students. The $3,000 was donated to Auburn Elementary School, Belview Elementary School, Eastern Montgomery Elementary School and Prices Fork Elementary School.
In addition to its Coats for Kids project, the club and its members support the Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry, Micah’s Backpack, the Montgomery County Christmas Store, Wonder Universe, the county’s Broomin’ and Bloomin’ cleanup, the Montgomery Museum of Art and History, and a number of international projects.
Rotary International’s top priority is the global eradication of polio. Rotary launched its polio immunization program, PolioPlus, in 1985 and in 1988 became a leading partner in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
