Blacksburg student earns PhD at University of Alabama

Riner student earns president’s list honors at Freed-Hardeman
Jessica Musselman of Riner was named to the President’s List for the Fall 2022 semester. She is earning a Bachelor of Science in degree in biochemistry.
To be on the President’s List, a student must be full-time and have a 4.0 grade point average. Students on the Dean’s List have earned a minimum 3.4 grade point average for the semester.

Christiansburg student earns masters degree from Maryland Global Campus
Joslyne Le Blanc of Christiansburg earned a master of science in cybersecurity technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus in fall 2022.
Le Blanc was one of more than 7,600 students worldwide who earned degrees from UMGC in the fall. Graduates came from all 50 states, five U.S. territories, and 18 countries.
Celebrating its 75th anniversary, the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) was established in 1947 to serve adults in the workforce. Today, UMGC enrolls some 90,000 students annually, offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs, as well as certificates in more than 125 fully online, hybrid, and face-to-face programs and specializations.
BHS grads earn academic honors at Clemson, Wake Forest
Blacksburg High School graduate Paul Duncan was named to the President’s List for the Fall 2022 semester at Clemson University. He is a sophomore in the Clemson University Honors College seeking a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture . The Presidents List is one of the most prestigious honors a student can earn. It is awarded to those who achieve a 4.0 grade point average on a minimum of 12 semester hours.
Also, BHS graduate Georgia-Kathryn Duncan received academic honors at Wake Forest University by being named to the dean’s list for the Fall 2022 semester. She is a sophomore at Wake Forest pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in communications and art history. Students who achieved at least a 3.4 grade-point-average were named to the list.
Paul and Georgia-Kathryn are the son-in-law and daughter of Edith-Anne and David Duncan of Blacksburg. They graduated from Blacksburg High School in 2021.
