Darlene Lynn Williams (Dee), 55, of Christiansburg, was called home to be with the Lord on Feb. 19, 2023. 

She was born on March 20, 1967, in Christiansburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Della Simpkins and Junior Williams and her brothers, Danny Williams and Gary Tickle. 

Dee is survived by her seven children, Matthew Reed (Jennifer), Chasity Seale (Tony), Courtney Crawford, Jerry Lee Crawford, Joshua Crawford, Sydney Smith, and Olivia Williams-Potts. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Kendal Seale, Madilynn (Grace) Seale, Charley Seale, Raelynn Helms, Jayden Crawford, Hunter Helms, Emberlynn Reed, Oceana Crawford, and Harper Seale. She is also survived by her siblings Linda (Gail) Vaught, Carolyn (Carol) Davis, Teresa (Terri) Booth, Dwane Williams, Leda Hall, June Peatee, Ed Williams, James (Jim) Williams, and Earl Williams. Also left to cherish her memory are many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. 

Dee was a kind and loving person who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her family, friends, and everyone who knew her will deeply miss her. Dee dedicated her life to working in social services, having worked for over 28 years directly supporting the community. Her work made a profound impact on countless individuals and families in need. However, Dee’s influence extended far beyond her professional career. She was known for her kind, compassionate nature and willingness to give everyone a second chance. She believed everyone had the potential for good and she worked tirelessly to help others achieve that potential.

A celebration of life will be held in memory of Dee Williams on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 4 – 6 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg. Please come as you are, casual dress is welcome. Dee will forever be remembered and deeply missed by her loved ones. May she rest in peace.
