A month out from a trip to the NCAA Final Four, the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team has begun the steps to reload for next season. This past week, the team gained 6-2 forward Alanna MIcheaux from the transfer portal.
Micheaux spent the past two seasons at Minnesota where she averaged 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds a game and was named to the All-Big Ten honorable mention team.
According to reports, she led the team in rebounding, blocks and free throw attempts.
Micheaux will help add to the lineup which includes incoming freshmen 6-4 Clara Strack, 6-1 Carys Bakers, 5-8 guard Machenzie Nelson and 5-7 guard Samyha Suffren.
Coming out of high school, Micheaux was a four-star recruit, the No. 75 player overall in the country and the No. 9 power forward according to ProspectNation.com. In addition, she was the runnerup as Miss Basketball in the state of Michigan.
She will have two years of eligibility left when she arrives in Blacksburg.
