In cooperation with both Pulaski County Motorsports Park and the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX), Pulaski County is excited to announce that legendary former Virginia Tech football head coach, Frank Beamer, has been named as the Grand Marshal for the SRX race on July 27, 2023.
As one of the most highly respected and successful college football coaches of all time, Frank Beamer is the perfect person to serve as the Grand Marshal for what will be the largest professional sporting event in the history of the New River Valley. Beamer served as head coach for the Virginia Tech Hokies from 1987-2015, whom he put on the map by leading them to a national championship appearance in 2000, three Big East championships, and four ACC titles. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame three years after his retirement in 2018.As Grand Marshal for this exciting event, Beamer will conduct the start of the race by announcing the command for drivers to start their engines. Beamer’s presence will draw attention and viewership at an even larger level and will showcase Pulaski County as a national attraction.
The SRX race will be held at Pulaski County Motorsports Park on July 27, 2023, and will be broadcasted live on ESPN with an estimated viewership of two million. An extensive list of world-class drivers are set to participate in this major event including two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, Kyle Busch, three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, Tony Stewart, 2023 Indianapolis 500 champion, Josef Newgarden, and many more incredible drivers.
In addition to the announcement of Frank Beamer as Grand Marshal, the Jared Stout Band will be putting on two separate performances leading up to the race; once at 5:15 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m.
Pulaski County is pleased to welcome both Frank Beamer and the Jared Stout Band at the SRX race to further enhance what will be an amazing experience for all in attendance.
