Congressman Morgan Griffith was guest speaker at a recent lunch meeting of Kiwanis Club of Montgomery County-Blacksburg at Warm Hearth Village Center.
Members of the Kiwanis Club of Christiansburg made it an interclub meeting. Congressman Griffith made the trek back to the NRV after a very late previous night of voting on the debt ceiling. He covered a variety of topics and answered several relevant and thoughtful questions. In his closing remarks; he asked us to remember not to get pulled in to believing everything we read on social media about our government leaders, regardless of their political affiliations. Most sincerely, he shared that the vast majority of those serving and representing us in Washington are truly there because they want to make their communities and collectively our country a better place. The fact is that simply not everyone believes that it should be done in the same way; but despite those differences, it is still possible to cross the aisle and work together for the benefit of our country and its citizens. Thank you to Congressman Griffith and local staffer Josh Hess for sharing your time with our Kiwanis Club members.
