Robert Dennis Trobaugh, 85, of Dublin, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2024. He was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Harrisonburg. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Menefee Trobaugh and Jacqueline Virginia Kerlin Trobaugh, and brother, Sgt. Kenneth Menefee Trobaugh.
Survivors include his children, Dena Lester (Mel), Donna Crawford (Dennis), Debra Jarels, and Scott Trobaugh.
Bob was the editor and publisher of the Radford News Journal (1969-1974); worked as an operations analyst and production control manager at Inland Motors in Radford, Va.; VA Transformer in Roanoke, VA; Chihuahua, Mexico; and finally, ABB in Bland County.
Bob had many interests and hobbies: raising and training quarter horses, fishing and boating at Claytor and Smith Mountain lakes, gardening, collecting antiques, playing old time Bluegrass music, just to name a few.
The family would like to thank the staff at Commonwealth Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice nurse, Sharon. A special thank you to his very dear friend, Juanita.
Bob’s wish was for cremation and celebration of life services will be held at a later date. The family suggests making a donation to a local animal shelter in Bob’s name.
The Trobaugh family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home and Crematory in Radford.
