BLACKSBURG – The Blacksburg Police Department hosted its first annual senior citizens breakfast Friday, Jan. 26 with over 30 people attending.

The residents spoke to officers about scam prevention, fraud detection, and local concerns. Montgomery County Circuit Court Clerk Tiffany Couch also attended to speak about property deed fraud and jury duty scams.

The Blacksburg Police Department wants to remind everyone that no law enforcement agency will ever ask for gift cards or money transfers as a way to settle fines. If you ever receive a call and someone is asking for money always speak to your family or law enforcement before sending money.
