The Quarterbacking Children’s Health Foundation has recognized Coach Frank Beamer as a recipient of the 2024 Nick Saban Legacy Award at Red Mountain Theatre Company in Birmingham.
Beamer served as head coach for the Virginia Tech Hokies from 1987-2015, whom he put on the map by leading them to a national championship appearance in 2000, three Big East championships, and four ACC titles. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of
Fame three years after his retirement in 2018.As
The Nick Saban Legacy Award was created in 2022, honoring the achievements of college coaches and their contributions to the game of football. Two coaches were presented with the NSLA on Monday, Coach Frank Beamer and the late Coach Bobby Bowden, who is known as one of the greatest coaches in college football, leading Florida State to two national titles.
Previous NSLA recipients include the late Vince Dooley and Bill Snyder in 2023 and Steve Spurrier and the late Eddie Robinson in the inaugural year.
