Hokies 2019-2020 basketball schedule

A trip to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational plus a 20-game Atlantic Coast Conference slate highlight the 2019-20 Virginia Tech men’s basketball schedule.
The Hokies will play 18 home games this season, including 10 ACC contests. This is the first year that the league has played 20 conference games. Tech will open the 2019-20 season at Clemson on Tuesday, Nov. 5 on ESPNU.
“I’m confident that our players, and fans, want high caliber, competitive basketball,” Virginia Tech head coach Mike Young said. “That’s exactly what the ACC delivers. So, additional conference games, along with added exposure through the ACC Network, is simply a win-win.”
The home opener at Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum will be Friday, Nov. 8, as Coppin State comes to town. That begins a four-game home stand and includes contests against USC Upstate, Lehigh and Delaware State.
Tech will travel to Hawaii to compete in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational on Nov. 25-27. On the 25th, Tech will play Michigan State on ESPN2.  The next day, the Hokies will play either Georgia or Dayton. The final day of competition will be Nov. 27. The other side of the eight-team bracket includes Kansas, BYU, UCLA and host Chaminade.
The Hokies open the home ACC regular season on Friday, Dec. 6, as they play host to Duke in the school’s first ever ACC Network game. The Duke game begins a five-game homestand, including games against Chattanooga, Gardner-Webb and VMI prior to the holiday break and Maryland Eastern Shore on Dec. 29 in Cassell Coliseum.
Tech begins January with a trip to rival Virginia on Saturday, Jan. 4 on regional sports networks. After a trip to Syracuse on Jan. 7, Tech returns to Cassell Coliseum to face NC State on Jan. 11 on the ACC Network.
In addition to the Blue Devils and Wolfpack, Tech will play host to Syracuse, North Carolina, Florida State, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Miami and Virginia. Tech will play host to Clemson in its final regular season home game at Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum on March 4. Tech will close out the regular season on the road at Notre Dame on Saturday, March 7 on the ACC Network.
