RADFORD — The Radford City Chamber of Commerce held its annual business meeting and silent auction, along with a murder mystery, on Nov. 13 at RU West.

Three awards were presented:

  • The Volunteer of the Year Award went to Mark Gordon, owner of Nesselrod Bed and Breakfast.
  • Teacher of the Year went to Kimberly Coulson, a second-grade teacher at McHarg Elementary School. Along with a plaque Coulson received a $100 gift card that she plans to use for school supplies.
  • Business of the Year went to the Radford Theatre and co-owners Paul Pallante and Mohsin Kazmi. A part of Radford’s downtown for more than 70 years, the theater reopened in 2013 under the new ownership.

After the awards, River City Grill, the 2013 Business of the Year Award winner, served dinner, and silent-auction winners were announced. The night ended with a murder mystery.
