RADFORD — A significant snowfall is scheduled to begin Friday morning in the New River Valley.

Often during snowstorms, Radford City’s 911 Dispatch Center is inundated with calls that are not considered to be an emergency (such as an electric power outage). Public safety officials are reminding citizens to please only call 911 for emergencies.

Other important numbers are posted below.

  • Non-emergency dispatch: 731-3624
  • Radford Electric Department: 731-3641 (Hours: 8:30-3:30)
  • Radford Department of Public Works: 731-3605 (Hours: 8:30-4)
  • Latest road conditions: call VDOT traffic hotline at 511.
