A senior from each Montgomery County High School was recognized as the senior of the month at the school board meeting Feb. 7.

Each student is chosen by the principal at their respective high school to be recognized at the first board meeting of the month.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Miear and School Board Chair Gunin Kiran (District A) present the students with a certificate of their achievement, followed by a photo with the student and their guest(s).

Tiger Sun, who was unable to attend the school board meeting to accept his award, is the Blacksburg High School senior of the month. Sun is a policy debater for Blacksburg’s speech and debate team and was a National Merit Semi-Finalist. He is awaiting university admission decisions and plans to study electrical engineering/computer science and math.
