Blacksburg

Library Events

Blacksburg Library Storytimes:

Babies (0-12 months) – Fridays at 11 a.m.

Tots (12-24 months) – Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

Toddlers (2-3 years) – Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

Preschoolers (4-5 years) – Thursdays at 10 a.m.

All ages – Saturdays at 11 a.m.

Stay and Play, a Library Playgroup

Every Wednesday after Storytime, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Under their parent’s supervision, babies and toddlers can play during this informal gathering. This program is for ages 0-4 and meets in the storytime room.

Andrea Denniston: Pottery Exhibit on Display

All month

Andrea Denniston, co-owner and operator of Andrea Denniston Ceramics and Poor Farm Pottery in Floyd creates everyday objects from fine porcelain. Come check out her beautiful, useful porcelain art objects.

Ripley’s ~ Believe It or Not! March Book Raffle

All month

For the legions of dedicated Ripley’s fans, and anyone else on the planet who loves the unbelievable, this book is a must! Stop by the library and fill out a raffle ticket for a chance to win this book.

Winter Reading

All day, March 1-4

Sign up and read books, receive a free book when you turn in your completed reading log. For children six and under.

Local author storytime

March 4, 11 a.m.

Meet local author Jen Fen and hear a reading from some of her books. Books will be available for purchase.

Christiansburg Library Events

Christiansburg Library Storytimes:

Artist reception for Charlie Whitescarver and Marie Collier

March 4, 1-2 p.m.

Join us as we celebrate the wonderful art of Charlie Whitescarver. Refreshments provided.

Barking for Books: A Therapy Dog Program

March 4, 2-3 p.m.

Come to the library and read to Qiana, a yellow labrador to celebrate Paws to Read Month. No registration required.

Intro to Role Playing

March 4, 3-5 p.m.

Join us for an afternoon of tabletop roleplaying (RPG) and snacks. All materials provided, for ages 11-18.

Celebrate Your Name Week

All day, March 5 – 11

Celebrate your name this week by learning fun facts and meanings of your name.

Teen Tech Week Quiz

All day, March 5 – 11

Take the quiz about technology at the library to receive free ear buds and a chance to win a prize! Ages 11-18.

Knit and Chat

March 5, 2-4 p.m.

All ages and all levels are welcome to join this group of knitters and crocheters.

Join us at the Meadowbrook Public Library to improve your writing! Bring your work for small-group feedback and editing. The workshop meets every Thursday of the month.

Upside-Down Art: Paint Like Michelangelo!

March 5, 1-3 p.m.

Drop in to celebrate Michelangelo’s birthday and paint your masterpiece upside-down. Learn about the artist and his works while you paint, sculpt, and enjoy refreshments. All ages welcome.
