It’s almost time to do some spring cleaning!

Public Works crews will be performing Spring Cleanup on April 15-28. Before you set your items out at the curb for pickup, remember these guidelines.

Make sure to place cleanup items within 10 feet of the street pavement and separate them from your regular trash. Please also separate materials by type, and do not block drainage ditches, gutters, sidewalks, water meters or sewer cleanouts.

The Town will pick up items such as furniture; appliances; passenger car & truck tires (limit four per household; no larger than 20-inches); tire rims; tree limbs, trimmings, brush; tree stumps; leaves (do not bag); landscape timbers; open and dry paint and sealer cans.

The Town will not pick up construction and demolition materials; heavy machinery; automobile parts; kerosene heaters; fuel oil tanks of any size; commercial truck or tractor/trailer tires; hazardous household wastes (such as paint, pesticides and cleaning chemicals); tree/brush materials associated with land/lot clearing for construction; or electronic components such as televisions and computers.

While special collection trucks follow regular garbage routes, please be aware that cleanup may run a day or two behind trash collection schedules, depending on volume of pickup items.

Need to get rid of that household hazardous waste? Please visit the Montgomery Regional Solid Waste Authority at www.mrswa.org or by calling 381-2820.
