Shirley A. Coulter Lucas Schoeman, of Blacksburg died peacefully on March 2, 2017 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home from complications of diabetes. Shirley was predeceased by the father of her six children, Haven Ray Lucas, and one son, Ronald “Luke” Lucas.
She is survived by five children, Steven, Robert, Kevin, Jeff Lucas and Melissa “Lisa” Lucas-Gardner. She had nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Shirley has donated her body to medical research. A memorial service will be held at a later time when her remains are returned. Her family thanks all the employees of Heritage Hall for the excellent care they provided and the love they gave her over the years. Good Samaritan Hospice will receive donations in her memory.
