Junior Klaudia Nazieblo earned Honorable Mention All-American status in the 200 fly for the third time in her decorated career with the Virginia Tech swimming and diving team on Saturday on the final day of the NCAA Championships.

Nazieblo clinched an honorable mention spot after swimming a 1:55.52 to finish 16th in the prelims. She swam a 1:55.60 in the finals. In the team standings, the H2Okies finished 31st.

“Four scored swims this weekend is a tremendous effort by our ladies. We are happy that our seniors each earned Honorable Mention All-American accolades throughout the course of the weekend,” head coach Ned Skinner said. “Jessica Hespeler, Fiona Donnelly and Klaudia have meant so much to our program and we are proud of who they are in and out of the pool. We always want a higher team finish, but we are pleased to continue our streak of going to NCAAs and bringing home All-Americans.”

Freshman Reka Gyorgy nearly improved on her seed time in the 200 back prelims with a 1:54.58 while classmate Chloe Hicks swam a 1:55.55. In the 1650 free, Hespeler posted a 16:14.09.

The H2Okies return to action next week as the men take center stage in Indianapolis for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
