Lois Hutchens Tuck, 88, of Christiansburg, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Allen Tuck; parents, Charles E. Hutchens and Nell Hutchens Baity; son, Ron Wayne Dayle; grandson, Thorpe Bishop; and sisters, Doris McKnight and Sharon Leigh (Pearl) Hutchens.

Survivors include her son, Gordon Dalton of Canyon Lake, Texas; daughters, Rebecca Ann Hutchens of Christiansburg and Tanya Cromer of Dublin; a grandson in Long Beach, California; two grandsons and a granddaughter in Austin, Texas; four grandchildren in Virginia; four great-grandchildren in California and five in Austin, Texas; two nieces in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and a nephew in Fort Myers, Florida.

Lois moved from Yadkinville, North Carolina with her family to Radford in her early teens and attended Radford High School. She retired from Virginia Tech and was a member of the Belmont Christian Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, good friend, dedicated Christian and was the living embodiment of, “Never met a stranger.” Outgoing, friendly, caring and giving are apt descriptions.

As she requested, there will be no viewing, funeral service nor memorial services. The family will conduct a private Celebration of Life for her family and friends from 2-3 p.m. April 2 at the Belmont Christian Church, 2149 Dominion Drive, Christiansburg, VA 24073.

Her desire was there be no flowers. You may honor her memory with a memorial donation to the Belmont Christian Church, 1500 Peppers Ferry Road, Christiansburg, VA 24073.

The Tuck family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
