On Monday, the Salem Red Sox announced a new radio partnership with ESPN Blacksburg, bringing the sounds of Red Sox baseball to even more fans in southwest Virginia and beyond. The station will carry the live broadcasts of all 140 regular season home and road games, as well as the 2017 Carolina League All-Star Game on June 20, which Salem will host.

Red Sox broadcaster Ben Gellman will take fans inside the game with comprehensive coverage of the team throughout the 2017 Carolina League season.

“Our fans kept telling how much they value having us on radio, and we’re thrilled to expand our reach with this new partnership,” Red Sox President and General Manager Ryan Shelton said. “We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with ESPN Blacksburg to expand our reach to the many dedicated fans in the New River Valley.”

ESPN Blacksburg operations manager Paul VanWagoner said, “In our commitment to continue to bring great local programming to the New River Valley, it seemed like a perfect fit to put the Red Sox on ESPN Blacksburg. The Red Sox are a quality product, and we are committed to bringing quality to our listeners.”

Fans will be able to enjoy the sounds of Salem Red Sox baseball all season long, as Gellman brings his years of broadcasting experience to the airwaves for Salem. In addition to ESPN Blacksburg, games will also be available on ESPN Roanoke, and the live stream of the broadcast can be accessed at SalemSox.com.
