James (Doc) Roosevelt Caldwell, born May 27,1935 left this world on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
Doc was the father to Peggy Caldwell and the late Larry Caldwell, and the devoted “Pawpaw” to Heather Caldwell-White. Doc was the son of Albert Benson Caldwell and Mary Sheppard Caldwell.
Doc retired as a staff member of Radford University and was the owner of “The Pizza Shop” in downtown Radford in the 1980s. He was a loyal supporter of the Democratic Party and a selfless contributor to multiple animal rescue organizations.
Doc’s memorial service was held Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Christiansburg Wesleyan Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Humane Society of Montgomery County.
