The Montgomery Museum and Lewis Miller Regional Art Center has announced that it is once again participating in the Community Foundation of the New River Valley’s (CFNRV) Give Big Day.
Participants will be able to donate online from a computer at home or come by the museum to make an online donation. The museum on this day will also be celebrating Lewis Miller’s 221st birthday by hosting a birthday party to honor the occasion.
This is the third year the museum will be participating in CFNRV’s online nonprofit organization donation day. The charitable day got started in honor of the CFNRV’s 20th anniversary in 2014 and has increased in money raised, number of contributions, and number of causes supported every year.
In addition to being able to donate at the museum there will be birthday cake and lemonade provided for Lewis Miller’s birthday celebration. Give Big Day is taking place this year on Wednesday with the museum hosting from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
CFNRV has nonprofit organizations host a profile page that the online donations run through with the contributions going directly to the organization’s bank account.
Their goal is to encourage charitable giving in the New River Valley to nonprofit organizations while also promoting the awareness of these local establishments. They have raised $551,317 in the past four years for nonprofits and show no signs of slowing down.
Give Big Day at the museum is a walk-in event that requires no ticket or reservation, however CFNRV encourages a minimum donation of $10. Donations will be accepted here at the museum during the Lewis Miller birthday celebration or can be made online at home.
