New River Community College will be offering three free summer camps for local middle and high school students in Dublin and Christiansburg.

The camp will run June 12-16, in Dublin. The week-long, hands-on camp will work outdoors “in the field” as well as process data in the lab. Professor Dennis DuBuc, former police officer and head of NRCC’s administration of justice department, and local law enforcement will help students solve the case.

The week will end with a program open to family and friends for participants to show their work.

Each camper will receive a t-shirt.

Applications are available from the schools’ guidance counselors. Applications are due Wednesday, May 17. Return applications and a $25 refundable deposit to your guidance counselor or

Campers will receive lunch every day and a t-shirt, USB and a Raspberry Pi at the end of the week.
