Virginia Tech’s Mandy McGlynn has been called back into camp with the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Soccer Team.

Rising sophomore Mandy McGlynn of the Virginia Tech women’s soccer team has been called back into camp with the United States Under-20 Women’s National Team (WNT).

The U.S. U-20 WNT and U.S. U-19 WNT will conduct overlapping training camps at the U.S. Soccer National Team Training Center in Carson, California, with both teams playing the Japan U-20 WNT during the nine-day event.

The U-20 WNT will be in camp from May 18-26 and will play Japan’s squad twice. The first match is set to take place on Monday, May 22 at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the second contest on Wednesday, May 24 at 8 p.m. ET. Both matches will be held at the U.S. Soccer NTC at StubHub Center in Carson, California.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, McGlynn is one of four goalkeepers and is one of 11 collegiate players on the 26-women roster. The upcoming camp will mark McGlynn’s fourth national call, as she previously competed on both the U-18 and U-19 teams earlier this season. McGlynn most recently participated in a training camp with the U-19 squad back in January. She also traveled to Belfast, Ireland, for a trio of friendlies with the U-18 WNT.

“We are excited for this opportunity Mandy has earned once again,” said coach Charles “Chugger” Adair. “This shows the continued progress she has made in her training and her commitment to playing at the highest level. Mandy has been a huge part of our team, and we are very proud of her accomplishments! We wish her the best and look forward to her continued commitment to the U.S. National Team.”

McGlynn started in 16 of the team’s 19 matches for Tech in 2016. She finished with 58 saves and held a 1.17 goals-against average. McGlynn also logged six shutouts on the year and recorded an 11-4-1 overall mark in her first season as a Hokie.
