Sickey, Robert James

Robert (Bob) James Sickey, age 79, of Pilot died, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home. He was born in Ohio on May 14, 1938 to the late Geza “Gus” and Irene Julia Biggs Sickey.


He was a member of Oak Grove Church. Bob owned and operated Bob’s Texaco on Route 8 for many years, then along with his wife Lodis owned and operated B & L Truck Accessories and Truck Rentals. Bob loved his antique General Motor cars.

He is survived by his wife Lodis Smith Sickey, sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Bobby) and Carol Shaheen, Ricky and Sandra Keith, Stacy and Miranda Keith, daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Art Hamrick, grandchildren, Michael, Billy, Stephanie, Heather, Jessica, Carter, John, Isaiah, five great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Dan Linkous, brother, Ronald “Gus” Sickey, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Kenneth Kingrea and Pastor Leon Alley officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. S.W. Blacksburg, VA.
