Pendleton, Clyde “Pete” Franklin

Clyde “Pete” Franklin Pendleton, 76, passed away on Mon., May 22 at the New River Valley Medical Center after losing his battle with dementia.


He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. Pendleton and Genrietta Cline Sigmon; his brother, Tommy Pendleton; sisters, Ann Furr and Shirley Berry; and granddaughter, Kristen Lynn Pendleton.

Clyde leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife and caregiver of 56 years, Isabell Duncan Pendleton; his daughter, Debbie Cox of Christiansburg; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kim Pendleton of Christiansburg; his grandchildren, Baily Cox, Courtney Cox, Lindsey Pendleton, and Matthew Pendleton; many nieces and nephews; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Shelvy Moore; and sister-in-law, Louise Quesenberry. 

Clyde was born on Oct. 1, 1940 in Newtown, N.C. He worked at Dickerson Garage for 35 years, at Intermet for six years, and at Jefferson Apartments for four years.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. David Hudgins and the staff of NRV Medical Center, Lorrie Johnson, Lorraine Lester, and Rhonda Perry of Carilion Home Health for the excellent care given to him.

A graveside service was held Friday, May 26 at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
