Safford Eugene Adkins, 75, of Max Meadows, formerly of McCoy, Va. passed away at his home in Max Meadows, VA.
He was born in McCoy, VA on Aug. 29, 1941 to the late Frank Spencer and Bertha Ellen Smith Adkins, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest W. (Pee Wee) Adkins and Fred Oakley Adkins.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Cindy Teske of Fayetteville, Ga. Laura Beth and David Arrington of Barren Springs, VA; son, Timothy Adkins of Fairlawn, Va.; brother and sisters-in-law, Frank B. and Martha Adkins, Robert Adkins, Clarence and Mildred Adkins, John Adkins, Russell Adkins and Sue Elliott, Florence Adkins and Dale Shepherd, Barbara Adkins and Connie Croy, Hazel Adkins; grandchildren, Cara Carlson, Kelli Teske, Bryson Arrington, Gunner Arrington; great-grandson, Ezra Carlson; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jube Burk officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. tonight at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW, Blacksburg.
