Our beloved mother and grandmommy, Peggy McDonald Price, 78, of Blacksburg went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Howard and Margaret McDonald on February 15, 1939 in Blacksburg, VA. She was a graduate of Blacksburg High School and attended Radford University. She was married to William H. Price.
She was preceded in death by her brother; Buddy McDonald of Blacksburg, sister and brother-in-law; June and Holcomb Adams of Huntsville, AL and her twin sister; Patsy Priggen of Martinsville.
Survived to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law; Jeffrey and Harriet Price of Radford, daughters and sons-in-law; Jennifer and Stephen Davis, Jan and Nelson Perfater both of Blacksburg. She cherished with great pride her grandchildren; Jeremy Perfater, Tyler Price, Allison Perfater, Meghan Perfater, Victoria Price, Trevor Price, Courtney Perfater, Emily Davis, Christopher Davis and her great-granddaughter; Isabella Perfater. She is also survived by her brothers and sister-in-law; Lawrence (Bunny) and MaryRuth McDonald of Blacksburg, Randall McDonald of Alexandria and brother-in-law; George (Kirk) Priggen of Martinsville.
Family was the center of her heart. She will always be remembered for her dedication and love for her children, grandchildren and most recent great-granddaughter. She loved and cared for so many nieces, nephews and other family members through the years. In addition, she loved spending time with her family and friends vacationing at her beach home in Daytona Beach, FL.
A special thanks to Jay Clark, Sam Jones, Larry and Marcy Davis and JC Lowder who were faithful to visit her often and always put a smile on her face. We wish to thank Dr. Scott Jamison, Gentiva Home Health and Good Samaritan Hospice for all the compassion and care they provided her. We also wish to thank her dedicated caregivers for the endless love and support given to our mother during her illness. What a blessing each of you have been and we will always cherish each of your friendships forever.
In lieu of flowers and because of moms inherent love for children, the family request that donations be sent to the Dayspring Christian Academy Building Fund at 505 Clay St SE, Blacksburg, VA 24060.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends yesterday evening at McCoy Funeral Home.
