Blacksburg High School placed three players on the first team 3A West boys’ soccer team. Joe Carman, Harris Salom and Jordan Burch were honored with their coach, Shelley Blumenthal, who was the West region coach of the year.
Christiansburg’s Alex Perkins was named to the second team West region 3A baseball squad, while Auburn trio of Kyle Altizer, Keith Reed and Dylan Akers were named to the first team 1A West Region team. Auburn first baseman Hunter Perkins was named second team, and Radford’s Reece Williamson was named to the honorable mention list as a pitcher.
Auburn also placed two players on the 1A West regional girls’ softball team. Catcher Abby Wilson was joined by outfielder Machenze Lawrence. Auburn’s Emily Scaggs and Skyler Dehart were named to the honorable list along with Radford’s Bailee Cox.
Blacksburg’s Hannah Elias was named to the 3A West soccer region first team, while Christiansburg’s Morgan Mullens and Blacksburg’s Kyia Williams were named to the second team.
