Evelyn S. Palmer, 97, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Palmer; son, Verl Edward Ramey Jr.; parents, Soloman and Mahalie Skaggs; one sister; and eight brothers.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Lynda L. Scaggs; daughter-in-law, Peggy Ramey; grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Ramey, Ruslee Ramey McMillan, Verl Edward Ramey III; great-grandchildren, Russell Edward Ramey and Austin Reed Cole; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was employed by GM and was a member of Edgemont Christian Church, Belmont Christian Church, the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and the Salvation Army. Her greatest gift was being in service to others, her love for God in Christ.
