Radford rec volleyball meeting Tuesday

The Radford Recreation Department will hold an organization meeting for its 2017 fall co-ed volleyball league at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The meeting will be held in the conference room at the recreation center to go over rules, fees and game days.

Any team interested in playing must have a representative present at this meeting. For more information, call Chuck Morris at 731-3633.

5K remembers Ford

The fifth annual Marcus Ford 5K run and walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14. The event is a celebration of Ford’s life including his outstanding time as a track and field athlete. He graduated from Christiansburg High School who passed away in 2012 from a hereditary heart condition.

Monies raised from the run and walk go to a scholarship fund in his name that is given each spring to a graduating CHS senior.

The 5K starts at 11 a.m. with a $20 for each participant and begins and ends at the Huckleberry Trail entrance at the NRV Mall. For more information, call 392-2189 or go to www.marcusford.org.
