The animals of the week are from the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center. Each Saturday the News Messenger will feature a dog and cat from the facility available for adoption. Those interested in adopting a pet, or helping the facility, can call 382-5795 or visit www.montgomerycountyva.gov/acac.

Nizmo, 4-year-old male: Initially a little unsure of strangers, this Beagle/Australian shepherd mix has come out of his shell working with volunteers! Once out of his kennel, Nizmo is outgoing and friendly. He does well with younger children and doesn’t have any problems being around the bigger dogs at the Animal Care and Adoption Center.
Blizzard, 5-year-old male: Looking for a lovable, laid back, lap kitty? This guy may be for you! He and his sister Angel were brought to the Animal Care and Adoption Center due to his human’s allergies. He enjoys being outside but will gladly stay close for affection and a chin scratch. Blizzard is house trained and is good around children and other cats. Stop by the ACAC if you think he is your purrfect match!
