Ernie Wade, Kiwanis Club of Christiansburg member presents Oliver Lewis, principal of Christiansburg Primary School, with a $550 Wal-Mart gift card as a part of the Clothe a Youth program. Under the Clothe a Child Program set up several years ago by the Kiwanis Club of Christiansburg with the six Christiansburg schools, Kiwanis provided a $550 Wal-Mart gift card to each of the six schools to be used for students who are not able to afford clothing needed. Once the card amount nears depletion of funds, the school official notifies Kiwanis and another card is provided. The Kiwanis Club provides $500 and Wal-Mart adds another $50. A similar program exists for school supplies at the six schools.
This is one of several programs provided by the Kiwanis Club to support youth needs in the community.
