It is often said that experience is the best teacher. This is certainly true when applied to the Town of Christiansburg’s election for Mayor.

Michael barber is completing a very effective four-year term as mayor using the experience he has gained by serving as mayor and by serving 12 years as a Christiansburg Town Councilman.

His knowledge of all levels of land use zoning and the many ordinances associated with zoning and conditional use permits has strengthened his ability to serve as mayor effectively.

He is a proven a proven leader in working with other regional entities to bring economic development to Christiansburg and Montgomery County.

He has been instrumental in implementing the goals and objectives of Vision 2020 as Christiansburg plans for the future.

It would be extremely difficult to do the job of mayor without a full understanding of the functions of municipal government. Learning and understanding the role of elected officials, town officials and key employees takes time and experience.

Mayor Michael Barber has attained this knowledge by his dedicated, professional, and transparent service to the Town of Christiansburg as an elected official for 16 years.

Let’s re-elect this man of experience to the Office of Mayor of Christiansburg.

Richard G. Ballengee,

Former Mayor of Christiansburg
