The pets-of-the-week are from the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center. Each Saturday the News Messenger features a dog and cat from the facility available for adoption. Those interested in adopting a pet, or helping the facility, can call 382-5795 or visit www.montgomerycountyva.gov/acac.

Rue, 10-weeks, was only a few weeks old when she was found with her sister and mother under a mobile home. She is an adventurous and acrobatic kitty that gets along with other felines and loves people of all ages. Rue has been spayed, started on age-appropriate vaccinations. She is ready to find her purrfect home!
Don’t let Kane’s size fool you. At seven months, this young pup still has some growing to do. Kane is looking for an active home where he can use his energy. He has proven to be a quick learner and is highly food motivated. He would benefit from and love obedience classes. Kane has done well with other dogs and everyone he has met during his time at the Animal Care and Adoption Center.
