Registration open now for 4-H Holiday Fun Day event

Montgomery County 4-H, the youth development effort of Cooperative Extension, is offering a Holiday Fun Day featuring snacks, arts and crafts, and a holiday movie for youth ages 5 to 10 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21 at the Montgomery County Government Center.


“Parents, if you need a little time for holiday shopping and other holiday preparation, let us take care of your children while you get some of those things on your holiday list done,” Michelle Dickerson, 4-H Extension Agent for Montgomery County wrote in a recent press release.

“We have not chosen the movie yet, but it will an age-appropriate holiday movie,” Dickerson said.

Children are asked to bring a bagged lunch, sleeping bag, and a pillow, or blanket for the movie.

Attendance is capped at 25 and the fee is $20; $10 for additional children in a family.

Go to https://tinyurl.com/4hholidayfunday to complete the Google registration form by noon Tuesday, Dec 19.

Each child needs a health history form that can be emailed or mailed with your registration, then brought with the fee on December 21.

4-H is a youth development effort of Cooperative Extension, which is the education outreach component of land-grant univeristies like Virginia Tech and Virginia State University.

4-H uses hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and citizenship in a positive environment.

“Our 4-H Holiday Fun Day is a great way for kids to spend their first full day out of school!” the press release said.
