Early signing day coverage

The early signing period for college football prospects begins on December 20 and we’ll have wall-to-wall coverage. Wednesday’s coverage will be highlighted by a one-hour special presented by Nissan at 11 a.m. that will be available on HokieSports.com and @HokieSports on Facebook.

Jon Laaser and Mike Burnop will host the special that will include exclusive interviews with head coach Justin Fuente and other members of Tech coaching staff, as well as highlights of the signees and more.

The action will start as soon as national letters of intent are received on Wednesday morning. Follow @VT_Football on Twitter to find out which prospects are on board to play for the Hokies. Coverage will continue throughout the day with a complete wrap-up from Laaser and Burnop, as well as all the bios, stats and important data on the newest members of the team.

VT women run away from Monmouth

Taylor Emery hit 5-of-6 shots in the first quarter, and went on to score 25 points as Tech overwhelmed Monmouth, 84-34 Tuesday night. The win takes Tech to 10-2 on the season, as the Hokies head home for the Holiday season.

Aisha Sheppard provided a spark off the bench scoring 14 points, including 11 in the first half as she knocked down three triples.

The Hokies return to Carilion Clinic Court on Saturday, Dec. 16 for a 6 p.m. matchup with the High Point Panthers. Montgomery County elementary and middle school children will receive complimentary admission to the game with fliers sent home through Montgomery County schools. Following the conclusion of the game, the women’s basketball team student-athletes will be available to sign autographs on the concourse.
