A “Family Fun Festival” will be held at New River Community College in Dublin from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24.
The Family Fun Festival will include a variety of activities for adults and children. Children’s activities will include face painting, balloon art, a bouncy house, a mechanical bull and games.
There will also be several science tables with animal displays including snakes, a falcon, lizards, rats, scorpions, genetically modified fish, tarantulas and Madagascar hissing cockroaches. The cockroaches will also be part of a “cockroach race” event.
Other activities will include health and wellness activities and screenings. Live music will be provided by the band “Don’t Quit Your Day Job.” There will also be free popcorn.
There will be a tricycle race for children around 1:45 p.m. during the band’s intermission. The race is for children five years old or younger and the winner will receive a prize.
Please bring your own tricycle for the race. Phi Theta Kappa will hold a 50-50 raffle to raise money to support honor society students.
Sponsored by NRCC’s Faculty Assembly, the event and all activities are free and open to the public and will take place in 117 Edwards Hall.
