Louis F. (Ted) Melkus, 88, of Christiansburg passed away at his home surrounded by family Feb. 12, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his sweetheart of 67 years Betty C. Melkus; his parents Joseph and Mary Melkus; brother Joe Melkus, Jr. (Wilma). He is survived by son, Chris Melkus (Connie) of Ashburn; daughter, Amy McGuire (Danny) of Pilot; brothers, Konrad (Joann) of Bridgeport, WVA., James (Becky) of Manning, WVA.; grandchildren, Maggie Melkus, Carly Melkus, Madeline McGuire, Lukas McGuire, Anna McGuire and multiple nieces and nephews.
Ted was born March 16, 1929 in Sun, W.Va. He was an Air Force Veteran who served in the Korean War. He loved hunting, fishing, golf and especially his grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Feb 15 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Cemetery. The family received friends that evening at the McCoy Funeral Home.
