Kroger has begun a major remodel of its store on S. Main Street in Blacksburg, with an estimated cost of $4.6 million.
The remodeled store will have a Starbucks, expanded selection of adult beverages, natural foods, deli offerings, meat and seafood and more variety in the floral shop.
The interior design of the store will be new, said Mike Christle, manager.
“The look and feel of the store will seem to be brand-new. We’ll have a larger variety of items throughout the store,” he said.
Christle said most of the work will be done at night to minimize inconvenience to customers.
The remodel is scheduled to be completed in early fall. The S. Main Kroger employs approximately 220 associates and is open 24 hours, seven days a week.
