Robert L. Swain, 90, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evangeline C. Swain; parents, Cuba and Lottie M. Swain; brother, James Swain; and sisters, Virginia Mooney and Louise Wright.
Bob is survived by his son, Robert L. ‘Bobby’ Swain Jr. and wife Pat; daughter, Deborah L. ‘Debby’ Hahn and husband Glenn; grandchildren, Holly L. Jolly and husband Lee, Sherri R. Moeckl and husband Eddie; great-grandchildren, Parker, Hudson, Addison, and Carter Jolly, Luke, Abigail, Annaliese, and Evan Moeckl; and brother, Pete Swain and wife Anne.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Kroontje Health Care Willows Unit. We so appreciated the love and care that they provided him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 24 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church. The Memorial Service will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Doug Kanney officiating and interment will follow in Newbern Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bob’s memory to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 220 W Main St., Christiansburg, 24073. Arrangements were made with Horne Funeral Home & Crematory.
