Each Saturday the paper features a dog and a cat from the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center (480 Cinnabar Road, Christiansburg). Those interested in adopting a pet can call 382-5795 or visit www.montgomerycountyva.gov/acac. Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome.
Serenity reminds Animal Care and Adoption Center staff of “Puss in Boots.” She is a 2-year-old orange tabby who is shy at first but opens up quickly. Stop by the center if you would like to meet her. Don’t be surprised if she nuzzles your leg.This is an extremely rare photo of Gary. He’s typically a “nose-to-the-ground” dog, but he wanted to look nice for the camera. He is an 8-year-old Beagle and has been at the Animal Care and Adoption Center since the beginning of March. He works well with kids and loves to explore new places. Stop by the center for a visit!
