Storytimes at the Blacksburg Library

Toddlers 2-3 years – Tuesdays at 10:00 AM

Wednesdays at 10:00 AM

Preschoolers 4-5 years – Thursdays at 10:00 AM

Tots 12-24 months – Fridays at 10:30 AM

Babies 0-12 months – Fridays at 11:00 AM

All Ages Storytime – Saturdays at 11:00 AM

Stay and Play, a Library Playgroup

Every Wednesday after Storytime, 10:30 – 11:30 AM, Blacksburg Library

Under their parent’s supervision, babies and toddlers can play during this informal gathering. This program is for ages 0-4 and meets in the storytime room.

Parents and caregivers are invited to socialize while supervising an informal play group for their babies and toddlers. Ages 0-4 years.

 

Club M.O.M. (Meeting Other Munchkins)

Every Wednesday after Storytime, 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM, Jessie Peterman Library, Floyd

This play group will meet every Wednesday there is a Storytime planned.  Relatives can relax and have a cup of tea while their children play with blocks and other toys.

 

Bingo for Adults

Wednesday, April 11, 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the Jessie Peterman Memorial Library

Looking for something to do? How about a few games of Bingo?  Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.  PRIZES!

 

Power Girls: Mother/Daughter Book Club

Girls ages 7-11, and their mothers are welcome to join us for great books at activities that empower our girls.  We are reading Because of Winn Dixie by Kate Dicamillo.  Refreshment provided.  Join us!

Inspiring talk with suggestions for nutrition, body techniques and tools, essential oils, bodywork, gemstones, and supplements for pain relief. Leave equipped with a grounding and awareness exercise that immediately assuages pain. Topics include low back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic Lyme disease, sciatica, and neck and shoulder pain. Registration required.

Stop by all day on Saturday and enjoy making a surprise recycled craft.  We have all the supplies for this craft.

“From the Front Porch to the Front Lines”

Saturday, April 14, 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM at the Jessie Peterman Memorial Library

On this day, the library in conjunction with the Floyd Story Center and the Old Church Gallery, Ltd., will present “From the Front Porch to the Front Lines: Rural Virginia on a Threshold of Change.”  This will be an all-day film premiere of student movies from oral history interviews.  The films are the result of a 9 year effort to collect the stories of Floyd County residents who came of age during the Great Depression and World War II.  A schedule of the films is available at the front desk.  Refreshments will be served.

Have craft supplies languishing in your closets?  Bring them to the library to swap supplies with other community members.  Stay and craft with us too!
