Concetta (Connie) Rose Attisano, 82, of Blacksburg died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Heritage Hall.
She was born in Bayonne, N.J. on October 12, 1935 to the late Dominic and Rose Valerotti Fonti. She retired to Blacksburg, Va. after teaching elementary school in New Jersey. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed working on the cross-stitch window pane at the Church. Connie also enjoyed needlepoint and was an exceptional Italian cook.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leonard Attisano, daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Daniel Darvalics, sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and MaryJo Attisano, Joseph and Regina Attisano, Michael and Jennifer Attisano, grandchildren, Daniel Darvalics and wife, Dawn, David Darvalics, Peter Attisano, Elizabeth Attisano, MaryClaire Attisano, great-grandchildren, Denver and Davin Darvalics, sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Dan Danzi.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 11:00 am in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Father John Asare officiating.
Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Rd., Suite 106A Roanoke, Va. 24018.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm Friday evening with a Rosary at 5:00 pm at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
