Each Saturday the paper features a dog and a cat from the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center (480 Cinnabar Road, Christiansburg).

Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome.
“Sit… stay… down.” Zoey, 8, is a smart gal and easily follows a number of commands. This 50-pound pittie mix is sweet and curious—and she enjoys a good treat. She does well with other dogs as well as with children. She is also housetrained. Zoey very well could be the perfect dog!Could this handsome boy be your purrfect match? He is affectionate and has a lot of love to give to humans. Dogs? Not so much. Ten-month-old Cheddar would work best in home without canines since he doesn’t tend to play nice with them. He can be a little unsure in situations that are unfamiliar but warms up when he feels comfortable.
