Beautiful Pipestem Resort State Park hosted the Blue Ridge Junior Golf Tour on July 16, the last tournament before the season ending tour championship.

Here is a summary of the results.

16-18 Age Group Par 72 6226 yards

Carson Proffitt of Camp Creek, West Virginia, made 10 birdies on the way to a blistering score of 64. The score is thought to be the lowest in the 20 season history of the tour. Proffitt, a rising senior at Pikeview High School made the turn in 4 under 32 and continued the torrid pace on the second nine capturing six more birdies including four in a row from holes 13-17. Only a double bogey on the last hole cast any hint of a shadow on the stellar round. Hunter Bowers of Galax, VA shot 2 under par 70 to finish second. Patrick Smith of Beckley, WV and Michael Growe, Jr. of Pineville, WV tied for third with scores one under par 71.

14-15 Age Group Par 72 5847 yards

Daniel Goode of Wytheville made eight birdies on his way to a score of 5 under par 65. The rising sophomore at George Wythe High School won for the third this season. Caleigh Street of Jewel Ridge shot an even par 72 to finish second, and Seth Walker of Christiansburg shot 79 to finish third.
