 Storytimes at the Blacksburg Library

Toddlers 2-3 years – Tuesdays at 10:00 AM

– Wednesdays at 10:00 AM

Preschoolers 4-5 years – Thursdays at 10:00 AM

Tots 12-24 months – Fridays at 10:30 AM

Babies 0-12 months – Fridays at 11:00 AM

All Ages Storytime – Saturdays at 11:00 AM

 

Storytimes at the Christiansburg Library

Tots 12-24 months – Mondays at 10:00 AM

– Tuesdays at 10:30 AM

Toddlers 2-3 years – Wednesdays at 10:00 AM

All Ages                      – Fridays at 11:00 AM

 

Storytimes at the Jessie Peterman Library, Floyd

All Ages Storytime – Wednesdays at 10:30 AM

 

Storytimes at the Meadowbrook Public Library, Shawsville

All Ages Storytime – Thursdays at 10:30 AM

 

Stay and Play, a Library Playgroup

Every Wednesday after Storytime, 10:30 – 11:30 AM, Blacksburg Library

Under their parent’s supervision, babies and toddlers can play during this informal gathering. This program is for ages 0-4 and meets in the Storytime room.

 

Stay and Play, a Library Playgroup

Every Wednesday after Storytime EXCEPT the first Wednesday of the month, 10:30 – 11:30 AM, Christiansburg Library

Parents and caregivers are invited to socialize while supervising an informal play group for their babies and toddlers. Ages 0-4 years.

 

Club M.O.M. (Meeting Other Munchkins)

Every Wednesday after Storytime, 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM, Jessie Peterman Library, Floyd

This play group will meet every Wednesday there is a Storytime planned.  Relatives can relax and have a cup of tea while their children play with blocks and other toys.

 

Art Exhibit: Sue Hossack

All Month of August, at the Blacksburg Library

Sue began painting after retiring in 2013. She paints mostly in acrylic and ink, and prefers subjects with strong shadows such as trees, still lifes, boats, and animals, using vivid colors to bring the objects to life. Sue has a studio at the Art Bank in Newport, VA. View her beautiful artwork on display this month.

In Miss Jessie’s Gallery

All Month of August, at the Jessie Peterman Memorial Library

On display in Miss Jessie’s Gallery are abstract expressionist Adija Wolf and potter/instructor Aaron Moseley. Wolf’s paintings “dance dimensionally from one to the other and back again, musings on the energetic nature underlying the world we think we know.”– Doug Rubel. Moseley teaches classes at the Floyd Center for the Arts and creates functional work with a specific interest in wood-fire and soda kilns. You don’t want to miss this exhibit!
