Taylor, Kaitlyn Rae

Kaitlyn Rae Taylor, 26, formerly of St. Mary’s, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Fairfax, VA in an automobile accident.


Kaitlyn was born August 15, 1991 in Clearwater, Florida. She had been a resident of Camden County for 14 years, and was a member of the TopCats dance team at Camden County High School in her freshman and sophomore years. She was also crowned 2007 Miss Teen Sweetheart Golden Isles.

Kaitlyn was a 2009 graduate of Woodford County High School in Versailles, KY. She enjoyed playing video games, taking silly pictures, hiking, fishing and loved the outdoors. Her favorite foods were vanilla ice coffee and mac and cheese. Kaitlyn was a loyal friend and loved and adored her family.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 2 at the First Baptist Church of St. Marys with Pastor Roland Norris officiating. Burial followed at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland. The family received friends at the church prior to services.

Pallbearers were William Holdaway, Austin Miller, Shawn Coover, Joseph Snowden, Scott Dukes, and Tripp Dean.

Survivors include her parents, Angela and John Taylor of St. Marys; brother, Austin Miller of St. Marys, half sister, Madeline Sjogren of Lexington, KY; uncles, Nick E. Proffitt (Sharon and William R. Proffitt (Jean); grandparents, Cathy and Don Teel of Christiansburg, VA and Randall J. Proffitt of St. Marys; Special friend, William Holdaway.

Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
