Volunteers pull tires from the New River as part of the Renew the New event that brings several localities together to clean up debris and litter from the river.

Several localities in Virginia to include Montgomery County, Floyd County, Giles County, Pulaski County, and the City of Radford, all participated in the “Renew the New” regional cleanup event on Saturday, Aug. 25, which was organized regionally by the New River Valley Regional Commission.

The event took place between 8 a.m. and noon and participants received a t-shirt and lunch. To learn more about Renew the New, visit renewthenew.org/.
